❄️ Description: India’s traditional ice cream, kulfi is denser and creamier than regular ice cream due to slow-cooked milk that is frozen in moulds. Popular flavours include pistachio, mango, rose, and saffron.
Kulfi is commonly sold by street vendors known as kulfiwalas and served on a stick or in earthen pots (matka kulfi).
📍 Origin: Mughal India
🍧 Best With: Falooda (sweet vermicelli drink), rose syrup
🕊️ Cultural Note: It’s a nostalgic dessert for many Indians, evoking memories of childhood summers.
Cypriot Parallel: Comparable to kaimaki ice cream, though kulfi is milkier, denser, and often flavoured with cardamom or nuts.
