🎶 Tribute to Tagore – A Dance of Freedom, Pride & Poetry
🌺 Honouring the Legacy of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore 🌺
This moving semi-classical dance performance is inspired by one of India’s greatest literary and cultural icons — Rabindranath Tagore, the first non-European Nobel Prize laureate in literature. At its heart is Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, the poem that would later give birth to India’s National Anthem.
Written in 1912 and deeply soaked in Indianness, this piece — sung as Rabindra Sangeet — reflects the beauty, diversity, and struggles of Mother India. Selected by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as the national anthem for the Indian National Army, it has inspired countless freedom fighters through its powerful verses.
In this performance, the story unfolds through expressive movements that capture the nation’s journey — its pain under colonial rule, its resilience, its awakening to freedom, and its enduring heritage. The dance culminates in a message of hope, where India rises to new dreams and a renewed pride in its cultural richness.
